Considered by Simon to be the 'octave' of the very first record, Concert Program was, once again a 'snapshot' of the PCO at the time. Simon felt that the nature of the PCO was going to change quite radically and wanted to make a live recording in the studio in real time - a concert without an audience.
The Orchestra set up in a residential studio in Somerset, rehearsed, and when the time was ripe played a 'concert' with intermission (and drinks).
The result was, sadly, to be the last PCO album. It contains excellent versions of all the PCO classics and is a fitting memorial.
