Tacit Hill Editions is proud to present Time in the Stone, a beautiful book of stone carvings by Emily Young.

Time in the Stone will include 64 full colour photographic reproductions of stone carvings made in the last 15 years, including torsos, heads and discs from various exhibitions. Included are Torsos, Heads and Discs at the Fine Art Society in 2005, Recent Stone Carvings at St. Pancras’ Crypt, London, 2004 and her exhibition at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew in 2003.

The book has an introduction by eminent geologist, Professor Richard Fortey, FRS, and an essay by Cambridge archaeologist Helen Farr. There are also notes by Emily Young, and apposite quotes from scientists, visionaries and poets.

The book is designed by Richard Adams Associates with Emily Young. Principal photography by Angelo Plantamura, with additional photographs by Annie Hanson and Michael Hoban.

There will be 1000 copies of the standard edition printed on 150gsm Gardapat paper and bound by Editoriale Bortolazzi-Stei, Verona, Italy. 60 of these are available as the artist’s edition, signed and numbered. The artist’s edition includes a unique 20cm Chalcedony Lunar Disc by Emily Young.

The dimensions of the book are 33.6cm x 26.5cm and the extent 128 pages.
